Frank Wasser

October 3, 6pm

On October 3, at 6pm, Frank Wasser will read all text contained within the words and objects of the Martin Maloney exhibition. The reading will last approximately two hours, during which visitors are invited to either remain in the gallery for the full duration, but can also enter and leave as they wish. Wasser’s reading will be accompanied by a series of oral footnotes responding to the works in the exhibition. Developed during the first days of his Artist Placement, these fragmented footnotes will run  alongside the primary text, bringing into focus   the tensions, provocations, antagonisms, conflicts, and forms of resistance embedded in  the exhibition’s objects and materials.

Rather than offering a conventional interpretation of the exhibition, the reading will unfold as a parallel and situated response: a spoken layer of annotation that moves between the material, textual, and institutional conditions of the works.
